Travel Itinerary
The First Day - Journey from Arusha to the Splendors of Tarangire National Park
Your adventure will begin with a convenient pick-up from your hotel. Once you have met the guide, chef, and fellow travelers, we will embark on a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, which is renowned for its varied terrain. This park is famous for its majestic baobab trees and boasts the highest concentration of elephants in the entire country. Witness firsthand the fascinating dynamics of elephant families interacting with each other. Our game drive will take us through the park, focusing on areas where animal sightings have been reported, particularly elusive predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Keep an eye out for the abundant herbivores like giraffes, wildebeests, and zebras scattered throughout the park. Following a satisfying lunch, we will continue our game drive until around 4:30 pm when we will depart the park and make our way to the campsite for a hearty dinner and a comfortable night's rest.
The Second Day - The Journey from Mto wa Mbu to Serengeti National Park
Following breakfast, embark on a scenic drive from Mto wa Mbu to Serengeti, which typically lasts around 6 hours, factoring in any planned stops along the way, including a journey through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Pause at the Ngorongoro Crater within the Arusha region, taking a moment at the gate and viewpoint to marvel at the stunning crater vista (approximately 20 minutes). Opt for a visit to a Maasai village to delve into the rich culture of this renowned community, once known for lion hunting and consuming raw animal blood, practices that now belong to history. Arrive in the late afternoon, ready for a thrilling game drive in Seronera, the heart of Serengeti, extending into the evening hours. Witness the spectacular sunset over Serengeti, with opportunities to observe wildlife up close; perhaps catch a glimpse of a predator in action. Conclude the day by heading to the Seronera Campsite.
The Third Day - From Serengeti to Ngorongoro: Exploring Tanzania's Wildlife Sanctuaries
Following a hearty breakfast, our plan is to embark on a morning safari to observe the diverse wildlife. Later in the day, we will make our way back to camp for a delicious lunch and to prepare for departure. As we bid farewell to the Serengeti, we will engage in another game drive. Our journey will take us to Simba Campsite, a scenic spot near the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater, about a two-hour drive away. It's worth mentioning that you may catch glimpses of animals right from the campsite.
The Fourth Day - The Ngorongoro Caldera
Following a hearty morning meal, we'll start our descent into the crater in search of the elusive black rhinoceros. These magnificent creatures are known for their ability to blend into the stunning landscape of the crater floor. After a satisfying lunch, we'll embark on a game drive before making our way back up the crater. We'll then prepare for our journey to the camp situated near Lake Manyara National Park.
The Fifth Day - National Park of Manyara Lake
Following breakfast, our next destination is Lake Manyara National Park, renowned for its abundant flamingo population and elusive tree-climbing lions, although sightings are rare. A game drive will offer opportunities to observe a variety of bird species. With luck, you may catch a glimpse of the famed tree-climbing lions. Make a stop at the hippo pool to observe these creatures up close, along with the hot springs. During the game drive, expect to see a diverse array of wildlife such as buffaloes, wildebeests, warthogs, vultures, eagles, monkeys, and more.
The Sixth Day - Explore the Cascading Waters of Materuni and Discover the Art of Coffee-making
Today's adventure involves a leisurely stroll to the majestic waterfalls, which will take approximately 40 minutes. Along the way, your guide will share fascinating insights about the Chagga culture, their village lifestyle, and point out the diverse flora and fauna that surrounds you. The breathtaking views may even offer a glimpse of the summit of Kilimanjaro if luck is on your side. Upon reaching the waterfalls, marvel at their impressive height of over 80 meters. The inviting pool at the base is perfect for a refreshing swim, so be sure to pack your swimwear! After soaking in the beauty of the falls, you'll meander back to Materuni village with your guide for a traditional Chagga lunch. Don't miss the chance to sample the local banana beer – it's a unique treat! The coffee tour will be accompanied by lively Chagga songs and dances, providing a delightful immersion into the local culture. Before bidding farewell, enjoy the coffee you helped prepare while taking in the serene views of the lush rainforest.
