Travel Itinerary
The First Day - Journey from Arusha to the Tarangire Wildlife Reserve
Today, once you connect with your designated driver, you will embark on a journey to Tarangire National Park. The drive to the park will take approximately 2 hours, kicking off your exciting safari adventure right away! During this unique exploration, you'll have the opportunity to spot numerous elephants, various lion prides, and a plethora of other wildlife. A delicious lunch will be served midday, followed by more safari adventures. As the day winds down, you'll be taken to a modest lodge in Mto wa Mbu for an overnight stay.
The Second Day - Traveling from the Ngorongoro Crater to the city of Arusha
To make the most of the day, it's recommended to depart from the hotel bright and early to catch sight of the animals that are most active in the morning hours. Breakfast and lunch will be served at the 8th Natural Wonder of the World. Starting at 6:30 am, the journey will take you to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you'll enter the crater after about an hour. Ngorongoro stands out as one of Tanzania's renowned national parks, boasting an impressive diversity of animal species per square kilometer. Keep an eye out for buffalo, elephants, lions, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, as well as elusive feline creatures like caracals and servals. The area also provides a sanctuary for the rare black rhinos. By midday, you'll reach the picnic spot for a delightful lunch, before continuing with the safari adventure. As the day draws to a close, the game drive will conclude, and you'll head to Arusha for an overnight stay.
The Third Day - Trekking Up Mount Kilimanjaro
Commencing from Arusha at approximately 5 am, or potentially earlier to avoid any traffic, the day excursion to Mt Kilimanjaro will kick off. The duration of the journey, ranging from 1:30 to 2:30 hours, will depend on the proximity of your accommodation. Following an early morning meal, you will set off with your guide towards Kilimanjaro National Park to initiate the Kilimanjaro day trek. This particular hike will lead you to the expansive Shira Plateau, situated at an altitude of 3600 meters. This plateau is a former 500,000-year-old volcanic caldera, now recognized as a World Heritage Site. At this juncture, you may opt to pause for a midday meal or proceed onwards to Shira 1 Camp, Lion Gorge, and the base of the Shira Pinnacles. From this vantage point, you should be able to catch a glimpse of Kilimanjaro's renowned snow-capped flat summit, Kibo Peak, along with the adjacent glaciers.
