Travel Itinerary
The first day - Embarking on a Journey from Arusha to the Splendid Tarangire National Park
Following breakfast, the adventure commences. Beginning at Arusha town, the initial stop allows for any final purchases before embarking on the safari journey. Next, the route leads towards Tarangire National Park for a thrilling game drive, accompanied by a picnic lunch within the park's scenic surroundings. Tarangire is renowned for its abundant elephant population and magnificent baobab trees. It serves as the focal point of a yearly migration cycle, hosting a multitude of wildlife including 3000 elephants, 25,000 wildebeest, and 30,000 zebras. Later in the day, the drive proceeds to Mto wa Mbu for an overnight camping experience and a delightful dinner.
The Second Day - From Mto wa Mbu to the Serengeti National Park
Following breakfast, your journey from Mto wa Mbu to Serengeti will span about 6 hours, encompassing various stops along the way as you pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. A pause at Ngorongoro Crater is included in the itinerary. Upon arrival, a brief 20-minute stop will be made at the gate and viewpoint to admire the stunning scenery of the crater. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to explore a Maasai village, where you can learn about the remarkable Maasai culture. While traditional practices like lion hunting have largely faded, you can still witness some unique customs, such as drinking raw animal blood. Please note that this visit is optional and not covered in the tour cost, with an entrance fee ranging from 10 to 20 USD. Later in the day, upon reaching Serengeti, you will embark on a game drive in Seronera, the heart of the park, until the late evening. This excursion will provide you with a chance to witness the breathtaking Serengeti sunset and observe wild animals, including potential predator-prey interactions.
The Third Day - From the Vast Plains of Serengeti to the Spectacular Ngorongoro Crater
Following a hearty breakfast, embark on a morning safari to observe a variety of wildlife until midday. Return to camp for lunch and prepare for another safari as you depart Serengeti towards Simba Campsite, located close to the edge of Ngorongoro Crater. Keep an eye out for animals even around the campsite. Your meals for the day will be provided, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Accommodations for the night will be at Simba Campsite Ngorongoro.
The Fourth Day - The Crater of Ngorongoro
Explore the stunning Ngorongoro Crater in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area of the Arusha Region. Begin your day with a hearty breakfast before embarking on a thrilling descent into the crater in search of the elusive black rhino. Keep your eyes peeled, as rhinos can be quite challenging to spot amidst the lush surroundings of the crater floor. After a satisfying lunch, enjoy a game drive before ascending back to camp. Later, prepare for your journey to Mto wa Mbu, situated near the picturesque Lake Manyara. Meals provided during this excursion include breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The Fifth Day - National Park of Manyara Lake
Following breakfast, the next destination will be Lake Manyara National Park, renowned for its abundance of flamingoes and elusive tree-climbing lions. A game drive will offer sightings of various bird species, with a chance - albeit slim - to spot the iconic tree-climbing lions. The itinerary will include a visit to the Hippo Pool for an up-close encounter with hippos and a stop at the hot spring, all while observing an array of wildlife such as buffaloes, wildebeest, warthogs, vultures, eagles, and monkeys. The excursion will conclude with a return trip to Arusha, where your accommodation is located.
